REPORT ON SLANGO NGO WEEK AND HEALTH WALK

Date: 21st February 2026.

Theme: Collaboration, Sustainability and Local Empowerment 🤝🌱

On 21st February 2026, the Sierra Leone Association of Non-Governmental Organizations (SLANGO), the umbrella body for NGOs in Sierra Leone, organised its annual NGO Week and Health Walk 🚶🏾‍♀️🚶🏾‍♂️ in commemoration of the International Day of NGOs 🌍.

The event provided an opportunity for NGOs to brand and showcase their vision and mission, raise awareness on key development issues, and distribute Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials 📄.

Participants also signed petitions ✍🏾 in support of advocacy causes, reinforcing collective action for national development.

This Activity is part of the long week celebration of international day of NGO and it will be climaxed with a Conference on the 27th of February 2026 at the Miatta Conference Hall.

Madam Justina Zainab Conteh, Executive Director of the St. George Foundation Sierra Leone, joined the Health Walk on behalf of St. George Foundation Sierra Leone, demonstrating its commitment to collaboration, sustainability, and local empowerment 🇸🇱.

The event successfully strengthened partnerships and highlighted the vital role NGOs play in promoting sustainable development in Sierra Leone.
