OUR PROGRAMS/pillars
Saint George Foundation Sierra Leone’s Head-Office is at Youyi Road, Grafton Scout Camp in Freetown, but the organisation also runs an Interim Care Centre (ICC) at Grafton in Western Area Rural District, which also serves as a sub-office. Other programme areas include Bombali, Karene, Port Loko, Kambia, Tonkolili, Moyamba, Koinadugu and Falaba Districts respectively.

INTEGRATED CHILD PROTECTION & EDUCATION
Children in Sierra Leone experience a variety of interconnected barriers that prevent them from realizing their human rights. Child labour, female genital mutilation, early child marriage, adolescent pregnancy, and gender-based violence are the most serious risks for children. All children in the country are in danger due to these risks: systemic poverty, poor health conditions, and educational difficulties.

GENDER EQUALITY & SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD
Achieving sustainable improvements for vulnerable children, adults and their communities’ well-being requires designing programmes that not only have positive impacts on their economic empowerment and gender equality but do so in ways that can be expanded and maintained by local communities.

PARTNERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABILITY & EFFECTIVE SERVICE DELIVERY
In addressing today's child protection challenges, no one organization has the mandate, capacity, or resources to bring about systemic, transformative change on its own. The only way to achieve these goals is through partnerships and increased cooperation.

120 parents/caregivers, government officials, community people, students and
stakeholders (Female 73 and 47 Male) attended a conference on good parenting skills
using UNICEF manual, and partners (Good Kombra Na Glady Family). The conference
focused on the themed “Building a Resilient Society through Positive Parenting and
Family for Social Cohesion.” Through our extensive fieldwork, we have identified a
critical need for enhanced parenting skills, which significantly impacts societal
strength and family cohesion.
The conference enriched parents/care-givers, government officials, stakeholders and
students capacitating their knowledge on issues related to the protection, rights and
responsibilities of children, and safeguarding related issues in schools and in
communities. Parents and caregivers and other representatives were pleased to have
acquired the skills and committed themselves to apply the positive skills learnt to
provide support to their children in street situation.
